HasLab Modifications

Spent my morning finishing up my no cutting HasLab inner cyclotron light mod. Of course I had to cut the wires you make for the mod, but not any of the originals.

I’m still able to use D-Cell batteries but I did add the ability to use this instead. I haven’t had to recharge that during all my tinkering. https://a.co/d/8SGi2CF

I’m only using either the original D cells or this battery. Not together. One or the other. Works the same with either as far as I can tell. I thought a talentcell was overkill.

I made an adapter that goes between the outer cyclotron light harness and the mainboard. The plug on the mainboard is a 4 pin red connector The colors/functions of the wires:

Brown- lid detection ground

Black- cyclotron light ground

Yellow- cyclotron light data

Red- cyclotron light VCC+

Connecting the black and brown together overrides the lid shut-off feature. This feature is the 2 pin jst in the adapter harness.

Inner cyclotron wire adapter harness and light panel power:
The goal was to make a short 4 wire extension by soldering the 4 pin male connector to the female. This will go in between the red plug and the red tipped wire (cyclotron lights) that goes into it so that is what you are trying to copy.
At the end of the wire with the 4 pin connector I had to solder: Solder the 3-pin male JST SM to 3 of the pins matching Black, yellow, and red. -second set of cyclotron lights Solder the 2 pin male prewired JST to the wires matching brown and black. – cyclotron lid bypass I did not color code because my wires didn’t have exact matching colors or orders. I paid close attention, tried to find a logic to the colors I chose to go where, and triple checked it.
I used the male and female JST 3 pin SM and extra wire to connect the additional cyclotron lights to this harness. The end is not shown on the lights because That set was cut for my pack already.
For the light panel I decided on what color LEDs and which I wanted to flash. I took all of these and joined their red ends together and their black ends together. Using the male and female 2 pin jst I connected them to the battery source using a y splitter I made from these connectors. This is not the one I used, I made this as an example after I closed my pack up just for the picture.
On the black wire providing power to the light panel I added the DPDT switch. On the other set of poles is where I wired the other end of the cyclotron lid bypass. When the inside lights are on it will run with the cover off. *there are two red wires going into the bundle of black, they should be black but I had already wired the switch thinking I’d be doing something else.
